Croeso and welcome to Anthem470
Anthem470 is a multimedia project with Year 9 pupils from four schools in diverse counties situated along the A470.
Almost 420 pupils have been taking a creative look at the culture, opportunities and obstacles they all face, and expressing these in original lyrics. Each group created a unique anthem, which they performed, recorded, illustrated and dramatised, with fantastic results. Out of all of these talented pupils, 6 young people were chosen from each school to perform the anthems ‘on tour’. Anthem470 has been a great success, giving those involved an opportunity to think creatively, learn new skills in art, music and drama, and produce a multimedia work of art they can really be proud of.
The Anthem470 project is an initiative of People Around Here, a community arts charity based in Cardiff. Our main focus is to fulfil our mandate of ‘educating, encouraging and inspiring people to reach higher, shout louder and close the gap between their dreams and their reality’.
